We feel like kids at Christmas. It’s hard to concentrate when parties, caroling, and fun are on the calendar. The festivities zap our time and minds, making it difficult for a blogger to concentrate on writing exceptional blogs. Not only would we rather be baking cookies or shopping or listening to music or spending time with family and friends, but we also find it hard to create fresh content that adds Christmas spirit to our social media.
I have 7 ways to help you add a spark of enthusiasm to your holiday posts.
- Pinpoint your audience and Google “Christmas blog ideas for writers or bloggers.” The list is endless!
- Create a random Amazon gift card giveaway that offers your followers an opportunity to win cash. This time of the year can be expensive. Your thoughtfulness will be appreciated.
- Offer holiday decorating tips that are easy and budget friendly. Consider a video that shows you quickly adding a special touch to your home.
- Provide simple holiday recipes. Not just sweets but every part of a menu. Include tried and true dishes—appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, vegetables, breads, and yes, desserts.
- Suggest blogs that make holiday planning enjoyable.
- List your favorite online retail stores, the ones hosting unique and practical gifts.
- Encourage family time by suggesting games, crafts, and holiday viewing for the entire family.
Social media doesn’t have to focus on writing, marketing, and promotion. Show your followers you care by helping them enjoy this most special time of the year.
