If you’ve attended BRMCWC in the past, you’re aware that when you check in at the Ridgecrest registration desk, you receive a lovely booklet filled with all of the faculty information, descriptions of their classes, and the schedule.
This year, we’re saving a few trees and going digital with that information. There are some really cool things we have available to help keep all of that information at your fingertips.
- App: Ridgecrest has a great app that has all of the information you can find on the website or would have found in the booklet. The faculty photos and bios are there. The class descriptions are listed. You can create your schedule within the app so that you know exactly where you need to be and when you need to be there throughout the conference. There is a campus map, so you can find your way around. There are more features within the app, and we highly recommend downloading it prior to the conference. To download the app, go to the app store on your phone or device and search for Ridgecrest Events. And be sure to read Monday’s blog post that will be entirely dedicated to information about it.
- Website: The Blue Ridge Conference website {Click here to access} will be available online throughout the conference. All of the faculty information, class descriptions, and the schedule will be accessible via the site. You’ll also want to keep an eye on it throughout the week, because we’ll be posting from the conference every day. Check in to read quotes from the day, see photos, and more.
- Downloadable PDF: Some people (myself included) prefer the paper version. Since we recognize there may be some of you out there who do, we’ve created a downloadable/printable PDF of the faculty information and class descriptions. Click here to access it. Feel free to print it off and include it in your nifty conference binder. Or, download it to iBooks or Kindle and have it at your fingertips.
You may be wondering what you’ll receive at the registration desk, since we’re no longer handing out the booklets. You’ll still receive your name badge and lanyard, your meal card, and your room key. And you’ll also receive … a really cool tri-fold version of the schedule that will tuck neatly into your name badge! I’ve seen the proof, and it looks great.
We hope these items will enhance your conference experience. BRMCWC 2016 is only sixteen days away, and we’re looking forward to seeing you there.

I have to admit, I’m not a big fan of change. I like the printed program and was planning to use this year’s as a sort of “yearbook” and get autographs. But, I like saving trees and well, I’m always on my smart phone (I think you knew that already). So, here’s to old friends, new tricks, and a great conference!
