2024 Paid Mentoring 04.02.24
Mentoring Rules and Guidelines
The Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference is pleased to offer first-time or returning conferees optional one-on-one mentoring. It’s part of our Mentoring Moments program which takes place prior to arrival on campus.
There are two exciting components to Mentoring Moments!
First, we begin in February with monthly Facebook (FB) Live Mentoring Moments on our Facebook Page. We introduce our mentors and explain how the mentoring takes place. Additional Mentoring Moments topics include why every writer needs a mentor, how to prepare for a writer’s conference, how to make the most out of a writer’s conference, how to face fears, what to bring, mentor interviews, and so much more!
These planned sessions help writers experience a successful conference with preparation tips and mentoring before the event. If you want to take your writing and your professionalism to the next level, then join us through Mentoring Moments.
Note that beginning in February, Mentoring Moments meets bi-monthly. If you aren’t already a member of the group, simply click on the link and request to join. You can find videos of prior Mentoring Moments on this FB group page.
Second, we offer registered conferees an optional opportunity to engage with faculty who have agreed to mentor conferees for one hour at an affordable rate of $70.00. This is paid directly to the faculty member. These trained professionals mentor conferees in the following areas:
- Counsel and advice conferees on how to prepare for an agent/editor meeting.
- Guide a conferee in creating a one-sheet, proposal, or synopsis.
- Some faculty members offer their services to review what the conferee has prepared and offer feedback.
Conferees can scroll down below to find participating mentors, their topics, and email addresses. Contact the faculty member directly to schedule and arrange payment for your mentoring session.
