Is a paid critique at the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference useful for me? Perhaps you’ve asked yourself this question. You’re not alone. And the answer is yes! Writers on every level benefit from a paid critique.
The following information will point writers in the right (write) direction to arrange a paid critique.
A paid critique is a review and analysis of a writer’s work conducted by a professional within the industry. The goal is to provide feedback that enriches the writing and encourages the writer with honesty and helpful advice. Our purpose in providing this opportunity to writers is to help each one move closer to their publishing goals.
On the Blue Ridge website is detailed information. Faculty members who are excited to critique your writing are listed. They have specific guidelines including deadlines, expertise, contact information, and the number of manuscripts they are willing to read, so study their preferences. Adhere exactly as stated.
The critique is conducted in advance of the conference. The fee is only $35 and is paid directly to the faculty member. At the conference, the writer who has enlisted a paid critique will be assigned a 15-minute time slot to go over the work and discuss suggestions.

You can do this! A solid edit is a step toward building your skills as a writing craftsman.
